Bideford property with river views will be auctioned

The former Devon Partnership NHS Trust premises in Bideford will be sold at auction later this year.

The Devon Partnership NHS Trust has instructed Alder King Property Consultants and Webbers Estate Agents to auction Forest Hill House, New Road, Bideford. The auction will take place on Friday 30 September.

Forest Hill House is a substantial four storey property of approximately 4,542 sq ft (422 sq m) on a site of 1.32 acres (0.53 hectares).

The premises benefit from exceptional views up the river Torridge and are located a short distance from the centre of Bideford. They are suitable for a variety of uses and currently have planning consent for use as a single residential dwelling or as a commercial residential institution.

Dominic Rosenbaum, surveyor in Alder King’s Exeter office said: “The building offers a superb opportunity for self builders, DIY enthusiasts, and developers alike to acquire a substantial period property with significant grounds with great potential to be converted back into a home. The building is set in good sized grounds with ample parking and the upper levels have excellent views up the River Torridge.

“Alternatively Forest Hill provides a unique opportunity for commercial occupiers with the current C2 planning use for a residential institution, hospital, nursing home or training centre. It could also be used as a small hotel, guest house or children’s nursery/crèche subject to obtaining the relevant planning permission.”

The property is for sale by public auction on Friday 30 September and has a guide price of £280,000 to £300,000 for the freehold interest. For further information please contact Alder King on 01392 353080 or Webbers on 01237 472344.
