Sedgemoor District Council – have now adopted their Core Strategy which now replaces the Sedgemoor District Local Plan 1991-2011 as part of the 'development plan' for the District.
Cornwall Council – are currently consulting on proposed changes to their pre-application service. The intension is to formalise the process and to start charging a fee. Any comments must be received by Friday 25 November 2011.
Northumberland County Council – are currently undertaking a ‘call for sites’ exercise in relation to their Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment. The deadline for submitting any sites you would like to be considered for inclusion in this document is Friday 28 October 2011.
Cotswold District Council – are currently undertaking a call for sites for any land or buildings within the District with potential to provide employment, retail or other commercial uses. The deadline for submitting sites is 30 November 2011.
Bath and North East Somerset Council – the Inspector examining the Core Strategy will be holding a pre-hearing meeting on Friday 18 November 2011.

Bristol City Council has decided to mount a High Court challenge to the Government’s decision to approve Viridor Waste management’s proposed waste recovery and energy-from-waste facility at Avonmouth. The city council opposed the scheme.
Car-maker Honda’s plans to reduce its carbon footprint by installing three 120-metre tall Ecotricity wind turbines at its Swindon manufacturing plant have been rejected by the local borough council.
Councillors voted against the scheme on the grounds of visual impact despite officials recommending approval.
