Alder King Announces Two Mid-Year Promotions

We are pleased to announce two further promotions at Alder King, effective from 1 October 2025. These follow our largest round of promotions earlier this year and reflect our continued commitment to recognising talent and supporting career development across the firm.

Sam Carson – Promoted to Partner

Sam joined Alder King in August 2023, bringing with him a strong background in development consultancy. Since then, he has made a significant impact working alongside James Mackay on viability projects nationwide. Sam qualified as an RICS Registered Valuer in May 2024 and completed the RICS Expert Witness Certificate in June 2025. His ability to deliver clear, well-considered advice has earned him the trust of clients and colleagues alike, making him a highly effective surveyor and valued team member.

Hugh Collins – Promoted to Associate

Hugh began his career with Alder King in 2018 after completing his MSc at UWE. He qualified as an RICS Chartered Surveyor in 2022 and has played a key role in expanding our energy and strategic land portfolios. Notably, Hugh acted in a land acquisition role for the JBM Solar portfolio, which was later sold to RWE in 2023. Working closely with Chris Haworth, Hugh has broadened his expertise in strategic residential development and continues to identify new opportunities for our clients.

These promotions are a testament to the hard work, dedication and growth of both Sam and Hugh, and to Alder King’s ongoing investment in our people. We are proud to support their continued success and development within the firm.
