Alder King completes sale of Fairford industrial property

Acting jointly with WBM Property, Alder King has sold the freehold of the former Invertec headquarters building in Fairford, Gloucestershire, to Cotswold Doors Ltd, off a guide price of £2.1 million.

Originally constructed in the late 1990s and later extended by Invertec, the building was the headquarters of Invertec until its relocation to its County Durham facility in early 2016.

The detached industrial property provides 36,000 sq ft of industrial accommodation with approximately 1.1 acres of yard space and is the largest property disposal in the area for many years, says James Gregory of Alder King.

“It has been a great pleasure to secure the sale of this building to Cotswold Doors.  The building will now become home to Cotswold Doors’ office and admin functions which will be relocating from South Cerney.  It will also allow Cotswold Doors to expand its manufacturing and distribution facility located in Ipswich.

“The sale of this facility is the largest property disposal in the area for a number of years and is a strong indicator of the levels of demand for good quality industrial accommodation in both urban and rural locations.”

David and Simon Campbell, directors of Cotswold Doors Ltd, added: “We’re delighted to now own the building which allows us to extend our business interests, but also provides jobs in our home town of Fairford.  We very much look forward to moving in after refurbishment, with the positive impact on Fairford and the surrounding area.”
