Alder King delivers 200,000 sq ft of office transactions in final quarter of 2016

Property consultancy Alder King lived up to its reputation as the South West’s most active property agent by concluding close to 200,000 sq ft of office transactions in Bristol in the final quarter of 2016.

The firm’s stand-out deal was the pre-let of 107,000 sq ft at 3 Glass Wharf to HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of Salmon Harvester Properties/NFUM in December.  HMRC agreed a 25 year lease on the property which will now be developed ready for HMRC to commence fit-out in 2018.  This was Bristol’s largest office transaction for nine years.

Other significant deals secured by Alder King’s offices team included the 26,300 sq ft letting of South Quay House to student accommodation provider Unite and the 16,654 sq ft letting at 2 Glass Wharf to law firm Foot Anstey.

Simon Price, head of agency at Alder King, said: “Bristol’s office market performed strongly throughout 2016 but the final quarter was particularly successful and was characterised by a number of large deals.  We are delighted to have secured such significant transactions on behalf of our clients.

“The HMRC transaction in late December was an excellent end to the year and we are confident of another positive year to come in 2017 with some significant enquiries already active.”

Alder King has been named by Estates Gazette as the South West’s most active property agent for 15 consecutive years, based on the number of transactions it has concluded.
