Alder King posts strong set of accounts with profits up by 8%

Property consultancy Alder King has enjoyed another successful year’s trading, increasing turnover by 2% and, more significantly, profits by 8%.

The firm, which is headquartered in Bristol, has posted pre-tax profits of £3.44 million for the year ending 31 August 2013, with strong cash reserves.

Martyn Jones, senior partner at Alder King, said: “There was a gradual improvement in trading through the second half of the last financial year, enabling us to deliver a highly creditable set of accounts.

“Our consultancy services, which include our valuation, lending support, business rates, planning, property management, lease advisory and building consultancy teams, performed strongly.

“This was supplemented by a number of high profile successes in our agency division, including the sale of 100 Temple Street to Bristol City Council, the most significant transaction in Bristol city centre last year, and our multi-disciplinary involvement in the on-going success of the National Composites Centre and the Bloodhound SSC Project.

“With occupier confidence on the increase, the prospects for the current financial year look increasingly positive for our regional agency business and we anticipate our consultancy services will continue their strong financial performance.

“Our strong cash position gives us the flexibility to consider future strategies for developing the business.”
