Alder King sells former Swindon care home for residential development
Alder King, acting on behalf of Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, has secured the freehold sale of a former residential care home in Swindon Old Town’s Conservation Area.
The former residents have been relocated and are now enjoying modern and more spacious state of the art accommodation at Sandalwood Court, Highworth Road, Swindon.
Windswept, a detached Victorian property at 21 Belmont Crescent, has been acquired by Kamara Management LLP off a guide price of £575,000. Kamara is drawing up plans to convert the property into flats, subject to securing planning consent.
The three storey property provides a total of 4,380 sq ft of accommodation and retains many original and unique features including high ceilings, tiled floors, feature windows and staircases and a conservatory overlooking the garden.
Alison Williams, associate at Alder King’s Swindon office, said: “Windswept was an extremely attractive opportunity for both developers and owner occupiers. The property generated significant interest with the need to arrange dedicated viewing days on four specific occasions.”
