Brownfield site on Bristol’s Bath Road sold for sustainable residential development

Acting on behalf of LPA Receivers at Grant Thornton, property consultants Alder King have sold a brownfield site on Bristol’s Bath Road for residential redevelopment.  The 1.18 acre site in Totterdown, which is allocated for residential redevelopment in the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, has been acquired by the Hadley Property Group for an undisclosed sum.

Following a public consultation programme last year, the purchaser now intends to submit a planning application for the sustainable development of 159 apartments and ground floor commercial space.

Ben St Quintin, associate at Alder King, said: “The success of Bristol’s economy and trend towards urban living is creating unprecedented demand for well-located residential development sites in the city.  This is likely to continue throughout 2018.

“This site attracted interest from a number of developers due to its riverside position and location close to the city centre, Temple Meads Station, the proposed Arena site and cycle/bus routes.

“Due to the previous industrial uses of the site, there were a number of technical and legal challenges to overcome which made this a very satisfying sale to complete for our clients.”
