Land Agent, Bristol

PURPOSE OF ROLE

This is a key role supporting the Energy department, by undertaking land agent activities.  You will act for developers in the acquisition of land for Energy Projects. You will proactively and confidently contact multiple landowners either directly or via their agent to identify land suitable for Solar, Gas, Battery and a number of other energy generation projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use of specialist software to identify land ownerships.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of marketing material targeting landowners regarding hosting an energy project.
  • Engage with admin support to ensure letters to landowners are accurate and issued in a timely manner.
  • Make contact with landowners to follow up written material either by telephone or in person.
  • Liaise with landowners and their engagement with regard to various energy projects.
  • Maintain a database of landowner contacts and regular client reporting.
  • Negotiate with landowners and their engagement of terms for acquisition of land in person.
  • Direct liaison and engagement with clients both outside of and within a regular programme of update meetings.

GENERAL

  • Uphold the Firm’s values at all times during both internal and external dealings.
  • Proactively seek out and attend relevant networking events in order to nurture and grow the Firm’s client contacts with the view to generating growth.
  • Consistently produce high quality work which, at a minimum, meets client’s expectations. In addition, work collaboratively with third parties as appropriate to ensure you exceed client requirements.
  • Willingly share relevant and appropriate knowledge with colleagues and support their development as required.

QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be working towards or be prepared to study the RICS qualification.
  • Fluent with all Microsoft packages and relevant to the role IT packages
  • Be a highly motivated commercial approach, with ability to work as part of a team and be a self-starter working on your own initiative
  • Have strong research, analytical skills and reporting skills.
  • Have resilience to work under pressure; have excellent prioritisation, time management, negotiation and organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent/good communication and confident inter-personal skills and, deliver information clearly and succinctly.
  • Be proactive and receptive to change, hold a positive ‘can do’ attitude and uphold the highest level of professionalism at all times.
  • Hold a clean driving licence.

PRIMARY LOCATION

The role will be based within the Bristol office.  However, due to the nature of our business you may be required to work in other offices from time to time.
