Development Plan Promotion
Our planning team makes development plan representations on planning policy documents in order to promote land for development through the development plan system. We have worked for a wide range of clients, from householders and local businesses through to national developers.
Our role can include ensuring the policies are clearly legible and pass the test of soundness, or we can promote the site, principles and policies of your organisation.
We monitor the status of planning documents so we can identify opportunities to make representations at the optimum time. This approach is often essential for longer-term strategic proposals which could be in conflict with current policy.
We make representations in writing and appear at examination on Development Plan documents including:
- Local plans
- Neighbourhood plans
- Statements of community involvement
- Area action plans
- Conservation area appraisals/changes to boundary
- Development briefs
- Strategic housing land availability assessments
- Supplementary planning documents
- Community Infrastructure Levy
Working with our Strategic Development Land, Residential and Commercial Development colleagues, we provide a unique and tailored service for enabling a smooth transition from development plan promotion to the submission of a planning application and securing planning consent.
