Fifth occupier to open at Stockmoor Village neighbourhood centre

A fifth retail unit has been taken at the new neighbourhood centre at Stockmoor Village in Bridgwater.  Gossips Coffee, Hair & Beauty Limited will open shortly in Unit 5, leaving just two of the seven units available.

The £3.5 million Henry Davidson Developments scheme, which was completed in September 2013, is anchored by The Southern Co-Operative.  Other retailers include Barnardo’s Charity, John Ware Pharmacy and an independent fast food operator.  The arrival of Gossips will further enhance the mix of facilities on offer at the centre.

The two remaining units each provide 1,000 sq ft of space with consent for retail, hot food takeaway, café/restaurant, financial and professional services and community service operators.

Emma Smith of property consultants Alder King, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Henry Davidson Developments, said: “We have had an extremely positive reaction to this scheme over the past 12 months from national and regional businesses seeking quality space within a vibrant neighbourhood setting.  We are confident that interest in the two remaining units will soon be fulfilled.”

The scheme also includes 16 apartments above the retail units and 33 dedicated shopper car parking spaces. A care home is also proposed. The development provides a valuable community focus for the 1,400 new homes and primary school in Stockmoor Village and Wilstock Village which are being developed as part of the South Bridgwater master plan.

Gossips has taken a 10 year lease on Unit 5 at an undisclosed rent.
