Former Royal British Legion clubhouse sold for residential conversion

Residential Development

Acting on behalf of The Royal British Legion, Alder King has concluded the freehold sale of the former Royal British Legion clubhouse in the Staple Hill area of Bristol.

The property is located on Kendall Road behind Staple Hill High Street.  It was acquired by a private investor/developer for in excess of the £315,000 guide price.  The new owner is now considering options for converting the property into residential apartments.

The clubhouse occupies a 0.2 acre site and provides 8,850 sq ft of accommodation over two floors including a main hall, meeting room and bar.

It is the second Bristol clubhouse that Alder King has sold on behalf of the Legion, following the sale of the Long Ashton clubhouse in 2017.

Alder King and its joint agent Maggs & Allen are now marketing a third clubhouse on College Road in the popular suburb of Westbury on Trym.  The 2,060 sq ft two storey property would be suitable for refurbishment for continued clubhouse use but it would also suit a range of other uses, subject to the necessary consents.  The property will be sold via public auction by Maggs & Allen on 18 April at the County Cricket Ground in Bristol.
