Logistics firm Downton acquires Gloucester office block

Property consultants Alder King have disposed of the freehold interest of 1 Wheatstone Court on Gloucester’s Waterwells Business Park to independent logistics firm C M Downton.  The 2,220 sq ft office block was sold on behalf of Globis Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

The office is a mile from Downton’s Quedgeley warehouse and less than three miles from its main headquarters in Moreton Valence.  Around 20 members of staff from the firm’s administration and sales ledger teams will shortly relocate to the site.  The property also provides sufficient capacity for future expansion.

Alder King associate John Hawkins said: “One of the most noticeable trends of the property market at the moment is strong occupier demand for freehold accommodation.  However there is a real lack of available quality stock.  We brought this property to the market on a leasehold or freehold basis but the freehold opportunity generated such strong interest that our clients agreed to the disposal to Downton.”

Unit 1 Wheatstone Court is a two storey end of terrace unit with 10 car parking spaces.  Waterwells Business Park is strategically located one mile away from Junction 12 of the M5.  It is well established with a number of major occupiers including Gloucestershire Constabulary, Kohler Mira and Parcel Force.
