Monahans expands into new Swindon office amidst business growth

Agency & Commercial Development

Monahans, the largest independent accountancy and business advisory firm in the South West, is to relocate its Swindon office into larger premises in the town on account of business growth in the wake of the pandemic.

The company, represented by property consultancy Alder King, will take occupation of the ground floor in Hermes House on Fire Fly Avenue in Churchward later this month.

After 50 years in the Old Town, the move to Hermes House redoubles Monahans’ commitment to the town, says the firm’s managing partner Simon Tombs.

“Over the last 50 years, we’ve built up a very successful team in Swindon and have developed a strong connection and commitment to the town.  We’re very pleased that this will continue having secured such a prestigious location in Hermes House.

“The new office will provide a really first rate working environment and support the hybrid working patterns of our team.  It will also help facilitate our plans to grow the business by at least 10% over the next 12 months.  We are very much looking forward to another 50 years of success in the town.”

Monahans’ 80-strong Swindon team will relocate into Hermes House later this month.

Prominently located within the vibrant Old Railway Quarter of the town and adjacent to the Great Western Designer Outlet Village, Hermes House provides 7,296 sq ft of modern, open plan office accommodation.

The premises benefit from an exceptionally high standard of fit-out, with facilities including a large, dedicated reception area, meeting rooms, a staff break-out/collaboration area, fitted kitchens and 30 parking spaces.

James Gregory, partner at Alder King in Swindon, added: “Monahans had a clear vision of what it wanted for its Swindon office with modern open plan accommodation and an accessible location top of the list.  We’re very pleased to have helped them secure the very well-appointed Hermes House which totally meets their brief.

“Since the pandemic, we’ve seen a good number of companies investing in better quality office accommodation to encourage their staff back into the workplace to enjoy the benefits of social interaction, collaboration, community and training.  Monahans’ relocation is a great example of this.”

Monahans has taken an assignment of the remainder of a 15 year lease after agreeing terms with the previous occupier RSM and the landlord Thor Properties (Guernsey) Ltd.  JLL represented RSM in the transaction.
