National Caravan Council expands at Bewley House

The National Caravan Council Group (NCC CRiS) has agreed a new deal with landlord HPH Commercial Property to expand their operation at Chippenham’s Bewley House.

The NCC CRiS is the united voice of the caravan and motorhome trade. The organisation works to ensure that caravan and motorhome owners can enjoy their investment in a safe and secure way by working with manufacturers, law enforcement, insurers, finance houses and government agencies.

Employing 27 members of staff, the NCC CRiS previously occupied the second floor of Bewley House alongside partner company VIN Chip which employs five members of staff supplying theft deterrent and identification systems for touring caravans.

In order to allow future expansion, a deal has been done with HPH to allow NCC CRiS and VIN Chip to nearly double their floorspace, taking 4,865 sq ft of space on the newly refurbished ground floor of the building.

The refurbishment works have included new LED lighting, partitioning, perimeter heating and the installation of both solar and security window film.

In addition, the building’s boilers have been converted from oil to gas which, coupled with the latest energy efficient controls, will reduce both the building’s costs and carbon footprint.

Sean Bailey, Managing Director of NCC CRiS said, “We are moving to give us the extra space required to expand into other markets.  We envisage a 15 to 20 percentage increase in staffing, mainly within NCC CRiS.

“HPH has been fantastic in preparing the new office space to allow us to move in.  With the recent refurbishment the office was already in a great shape.  To enable us to just ‘move in’ HPH have overseen the partitioning of the space to our specifications, replaced all the lighting from strip lights to energy efficient LED lighting, updated and replaced the heaters with newer energy efficient radiators and also applied special film to the windows to reduce heat loss and incoming UV.

“Alongside this the other changes that need to be made, such as car parking spaces, security access and all the ‘little things’ have been carried out quickly, with no fuss and to a high standard with a focus on ensuring that all communications are clear and easy to understand.

“We are also very happy with the recent work that HPH has carried out in relation to energy efficiency and cost reductions such as the electric vehicle charging points, the office renovations both internal and external, and the changeover in the heating system for the building.  All work has been carried out quickly, with great communication and with the utmost consideration to their tenants.”

Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of HPH added, “As a landlord we work closely with our tenants, providing support and assistance where possible to ensure businesses can continue to function efficiently and grow in the right way at the right time. We’re pleased to have been able to assist NCC CRiS and VIN Chip, helping to future-proof the business for years to come.”

The second floor of Bewley House is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment and will soon be available to let.

James Gregory, Partner at Alder King acting on behalf of HPH said, “It is always pleasing when a company is able to expand within their existing property as they require more space. We brought them to the building in early 2016 and they have grown steadily since.

“The recently vacated second floor is now being upgraded and will be available to lease from late November. Bewley House has always appealed to occupiers because of its open plan office suites, high levels of car parking and its proximity to the mainline railway station and town centre.

“Following HPH’s works both internally and externally, we anticipate even more demand for the only available space in the building. The second floor comprises 2,680 sq ft and comes with the benefit of 10 car parking spaces.”
