New mixed use development underway in centre of Bradford on Avon
Work on the redevelopment of the former Griffin & Fudge factory premises in the centre of Bradford on Avon is finally underway seven years after the factory closed.
Local firm Kennet Construction has been appointed by Bristol-based property developer Juniper Homes to redevelop the mechanical engineering and manufacturing company site into six new homes, two apartments and an office unit. Completion is anticipated for late autumn 2018.
Planning permission for the scheme was won at appeal last year.
James Gregory, partner at Alder King, is marketing the office suite and is enthused at finally seeing the development taking shape.
“This has been a long time coming as our clients sought to secure planning permission for this well thought out project.
“Six of the residential units will be two storey town houses and the original old building is being converted to provide an open plan office suite of 1,000 sq ft on the ground floor with two apartments above. It is good to see such a high quality mixed use development replacing redundant buildings on this brownfield site.”
