Richard is an experienced RICS Registered Valuer and NARA Registered LPA Receiver. He joined Alder King in 2016 as a Partner in the commercial Valuation Team and currently specialises in the provision of valuation advice for secured lending purposes – acting for clearing banks, financial institutions, developers and investors. Prior to joining Alder King, Richard worked as part of the national valuation team at DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) for 14 years and subsequently at BNP Paribas Real Estate, as a Director.

Richard’s work predominantly involves valuing commercial assets as well as residential development opportunities and standing investments.  He also provides expert witness advice to solicitors and insurers in respect of alleged negligence situations and matrimonial disputes.  Other valuation work undertaken includes asset valuations for accounting purposes, Section 18 valuations for dilapidation disputes and valuation advice for tax purposes.

The instructions Richard deals with often require a forensic approach to due diligence, coupled with a strong knowledge and understanding of the market and the asset. He focuses on providing solutions and facilitating sound decision making in respect of real estate lending, enforcement and litigation.
