Renewed confidence in Bridgwater’s retail sector as Alder King secures second retail letting on Binford Place

Acting on behalf of Panther Securities plc, property consultancy Alder King has secured the letting of a retail unit on Binford Place in Bridgwater, its second letting on Binford Place this year. 

The property at 4 Binford Place was let on a new 20 year lease at the asking rent of £12,000 per annum to two private individuals who plan to open a new convenience store/grocery. 

The mid-terraced property includes 775 sq ft of ground floor sales area with rear loading facilities while the first floor accommodation provides 225 sq ft of offices and WC facilities.

Earlier this year, Alder King let 7 Binford Place at the asking rent on a new 15 year lease to Richards Aquatics.

Andrew Maynard, partner at Alder King’s Taunton office, said: “We have seen an increase in local retail requirements over the past six months, with significant interest in available properties. These long leasehold lettings at Binford Place, both secured at the quoting rent, are proof of strengthening demand for well-located retail properties within the town.”
