Siemens PLC takes office space at Bewley House in Chippenham
Agency & Commercial Development
Global technology giant, Siemens PLC, is moving into office space at the newly refurbished Bewley House in Chippenham.
With headquarters in Berlin and Munich, Siemens operates globally, employing 379,000 people in 200 countries and specialising in electrification, automation and digitalisation.
This latest move will see Siemens PLC relocate its software development department of the business into the first floor of Bewley House, taking 4,300 sq ft of office space.
Siemens PLC intends to fit out the space over the next few months before moving in up to 30 members of staff later in the year. The company has said the move will enable it to grow in the future.
David Boakes of Siemens said: “We are relocating to Bewley House because we like the location, being central in Chippenham means there are good transport links and various amenities close by for employees. Being able to put all of our staff on a single floor plate should allow much better collaboration. We also like the efforts by the landlord of Bewley House to make the office more environmentally friendly.”
HPH Commercial Property, who own and manage the Chippenham building, have a large portfolio of office, industrial and retail space across Bristol, Bath and Wiltshire.
Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of HPH Commercial Property, said, “We are thrilled to welcome global technology company Siemens PLC to Bewley House. Chippenham is a fantastic location for the fast-growing tech industry, and our office space is situated in a central and thriving location.
“We are very much looking forward to Siemens PLC moving in and wish them every success for the future.”
James Gregory, partner at Alder King, said HPH’s commitment to investing in its property portfolio, creating modern and efficient work spaces made a huge difference.
He said: “Before promoting the space, HPH fully refurbished the first floor at Bewley House to include a new central heating system, LED lighting and a new kitchenette as well as redecorating and fitting new carpets, and as a consequence Bewley House saw an increased level of interest from prospective occupiers.
“With its proximity to the mainline railway station and unrivalled car parking so close to the town centre, it is not surprising that Siemens were attracted to the building. It offers them the ability to grow their business and provides a much improved environment from their previous offices on one of the business parks.”
