Skypark Exeter secures another occupier

St. Modwen, the expert developer and regeneration specialist, has finalised a deal with engineering distributor group, Troy UK, which has occupied a new unit at the developer’s £210 million Skypark Business Park near Exeter.

Troy UK is the leading group of industrial engineering supplies in the UK, providing customers with access to leading suppliers of industrial tools and equipment. The company has taken a 5,800 sq ft unit on site, and joins other businesses including logistics operator DPD UK and regional head office for housing group, LiveWest.

Wendy Jones, Group Marketing Director for Troy UK, said: “Our decision to locate at Skypark in Exeter was largely encouraged by the site’s Enterprise Zone status, as well as its prime location with direct access to the UK’s motorway network and a stone’s throw away from Exeter International Airport.

“These factors combined allow the perfect set-up for us to fulfil our vision to build a better future for independent distributors of industrial supplies.”

Ewan Dauncey, Asset Manager for St. Modwen, said: “We are thrilled to secure this deal with Troy UK at Skypark. The ground-breaking development seeks to embody sustainable principles at their broadest levels and addresses social, economic and environmental objectives, and Troy UK will be a great asset to the growing community.

“Surrounding public transport systems have also been improved to accommodate those working and living nearby, making it more convenient for local commuters and strengthening the development as a whole.

“In partnership with Devon County Council, Skypark is the cornerstone development of the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point initiative and the vision for the site is to realise the full economic potential of Exeter as a major regional centre to provide a range of employment opportunities.

“Skypark is fast-becoming a self-sufficient urban business community with improved existing and new local facilities, in line with our core purpose of changing places and creating better futures.”

When the development is completed over the next 20 years, Skypark will provide up to 1.4 million sq ft of industrial and office space with potential for up to 6,500 jobs long-term.
