South Wales garage door company joins Mainport Training in move to Whittle Road
Alder King in Cardiff has let two units at Whittle Road, an established warehouse and trade counter area two miles south west of Cardiff city centre, to two businesses investing in new customer facilities.
The Garage Door Centre, a South Wales family-run business with established showrooms in Cardiff, Bridgend and Newport, will upgrade and relocate its Cardiff headquarters and showroom to Unit 16B Whittle Road.
The company is undertaking a major fit-out of the 3,750 sq ft unit which will better showcase its product range as well as provide additional storage space and improved customer facilities. Work is scheduled to complete in April 2016 and the company will move in shortly afterwards.
This letting follows the recent relocation of Mainport Training, one of the UK’s major providers of industrial training courses, which moved its Cardiff training centre to Unit 16E Whittle Road in January.
The company has over 20 years’ experience providing training to the construction, utilities, transport, waste and logistics sectors amongst others for both large corporate clients and individual customers.
Mainport has four training sites in London and across Wales in Cardiff, Haverfordwest and Crosshands where Mainport provides Mobile Plant & Lifting Operations training and testing, Confined Spaces, Forklift LGV & PCV Driver training. The company also delivers training at client companies premises across the UK and overseas.
Mainport Training is the only CPCS Mobile Plant & Lifting Operations Test Centre in Cardiff and selected its new 3,030 sq ft unit because of its proximity to its CPCS Test Centre, a large outdoor site at Leckwith.
The new unit has been fitted out to create additional office accommodation for increased staff numbers in Cardiff plus additional training facilities and classrooms.
Nicole Kruger of Alder King’s Cardiff office acted for the landlord Tanner’s. “Although both businesses are only moving a short distance, these recently-refurbished units provide both with opportunities to develop their customer offer and therefore provide a major platform for further growth.”
The Garage Door Company, which was unrepresented, signed a new 10 year lease at a rental of £17,875 per annum. Mainport Training agreed a five year lease at a rent of £14,635 per annum.
Alder King is marketing one remaining unit within the complex. Units 16F provides 2,960 sq ft of accommodation and benefits from a large amount of natural daylight. More information is available from Alder King in Cardiff on 029 2022 0000.
