Caffé Nero opens in Newquay

Caffé Nero, the European coffee house brand, has opened its fourth café in Cornwall, after agreeing terms with property consultants Alder King on the former Dorothy Perkins unit in Newquay.

The coffee house, which operates over 700 cafés globally including two in Truro and one in Falmouth, has taken the three storey property at 2 Bank Street.

Located in the prime pedestrianised area of Bank Street, close to the town’s nightclubs and beaches for which Newquay is famous, the three storey mid-terraced property provides a 1,804 sq ft ground floor retail area.  The two upper floors provide storage accommodation, staff areas and toilets.

Tom Duncan, associate at Alder King’s Truro office, said: “The prime trading area in Newquay has performed well in comparison to many towns.  The letting to Caffé Nero demonstrates the continued popularity of Newquay with national retailers.”

Caffé Nero, which was advised by Calan Retail, has taken a new 10 year lease without a break at a rent of £57,500 per annum.  Alder King represented the landlord Marley Pension Fund.
