The Instruction
Finzels Reach is a vibrant mixed-use development with nearly 800 apartments, a 168 bedroom Premier Inn hotel, 240,000 sq ft of office space in four buildings and 30,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space at Hawkins Lane. Our retail agency team was instructed to market the remaining three ground floor commercial units.
Our Approach
The Finzels Reach retail zone has become a real foodie destination, with restaurants and bars including Bocabar, Spicer & Cole, Left Handed Giant Brewpub, The Wellhead and Le Vignoble all attracting significant footfall. Working jointly with Fleurets, our retail agency team marketed the units widely to attract complementary occupiers to the development.
Results
The units attracted strong interest from a range of small businesses and independent occupiers, in particular the smaller unit 2 which secured multiple proposals. After conducting a “best & final” exercise, a letting was agreed with the artisanal chocolate start-up Ruby Hue.
Using the fully glazed frontage to maximum effect to showcase the on-site chocolate production, Ruby Hue opened in early 2023 offering single origin bean to bar chocolate, providing luxury chocolate drinks and artisanal treats as well as fresh coffee and snacks to residents, workers and visitors.
