Former Dragonfly tofu factory in Devon on the market
Property consultants Alder King have been instructed by Keith Pople Ltd to market the former Dragonfly Foods’ organic tofu production facility in Buckfastleigh, Devon.
The 4,607 sq ft (428 sq m) property is vacant following Dragonfly’s relocation to new purpose-built premises in Tiverton. It is being offered for sale off a guide price of £335,000. Alternatively it is available to rent off a quoting rent of £26,000 per annum.
The accommodation occupies a self-contained site at 2 Mardle Way Industrial Estate and retains some specialist catering facilities, making it a desirable option for other companies in the food production or distribution sector.
Scott Rossiter, partner in Alder King’s Exeter office, says: “All the refrigeration equipment and some specialist food production fit-out is still in place and operational. The property would therefore readily suit any business associated with food production and distribution looking to relocate or expand its operation.
“With demand for freehold properties continuing to outstrip supply, we’re also expecting interest in the freehold from a wide range of owner occupiers.”
The property is a single storey light industrial/manufacturing facility, partly clad in traditional Dartmoor National Park stone. Originally occupied as three individual units, it is now occupied as one and includes small integral offices and a mezzanine in part.
Other occupiers on the Industrial Estate include the Buckfast Spinning Company, Torque Imports and Applied Shop Fitting Ltd, as well as a number of other food businesses including Buckfastleigh Organic Bakery, Simply Delicious and Waldrons Patisserie.
